Shari Graydon
Shari Graydon was born in Montreal. Her birthday was Victoria Day, so every year it is a holiday. She moved to Vancouver when she was 11.
Graydon grew up with limitted exposure to the media, and didn't wear brand-name clothing. This did not stop her from being popular, and she was a member of both the student council and cheerleading squad.
In high school and university, Graydon’s favourite subjects were English, Literature, and Drama. She graduated from UBC with a degree in Theatre.
With this background, Graydon’s writing career included a column in the Vancouver Sun, a TV series on women and the media, and commentaries for CBC. She has also taught university courses in writing, public speaking, and media analysis.
After 33 years in Vancouver, Graydon moved to Ottawa, where she lives with her husband.
