Greg Jackson-Davis

Greg Jackson-Davis was born in Montreal. He spent many summers in Lake of the Woods, where Digging for Philip is set.

With one degree in Rhetoric and Professional Writing, and another degree in Education, Jackson-Davis worked as a basketball coach in Austria before returning to Canada. He now teaches middle school (Grades 6, 7, and 8) English and French in Winnipeg.

Jackson-Davis started writing Digging for Philip in a creative writing course that he didn’t want to take. Once he started, he found that he couldn’t stop writing. Over the course of three years, he worked on the book in between studying and working.
