Ann and Seamus
This book is written in poetry which is very interesting. The words are well chosen and carefully picked. The plot is simple but solid and good and this is a refreshing change. The story is about a fisherwoman, Ann, who rescues many Irish people who have been ship wrecked. Seamus is one of those. What happens is inevitable but in the end Ann stays with her family and Seamus leaves. Is Ann condemned to a predictable life of fishing, drudgery and having babies? This historical fiction title is an excellent book presented in an interesting manner.
