The Dirt Eaters
This book is the first in a proposed trilogy about a time and place in the future. The hero finds himself alone after his village is attacked by raiders. He is saved and mentored by the leader of the brothers, the "Saint". After he is trained to join the brothers he finds out that they are the raiders that attacked his village. He escapes and tries to figure out whether to rescue his sister, which he has been told is an impossible quest, or to follow his prophet's destiny.
