Holly Bennett

Holly Bennett is a busy woman. Not only does she write YA novels, she is also the editor-in-chief of special editions for Today's Parent magazine. She formerly worked as a youth employment counsellor and conducted research projects for Aboriginal organizations.

Holly attended secondary school in Montreal and Markham, then studied English and Native Studies at Trent University in Peterborough. She received a Masters of Education in Adult Education at the University of Toronto.

In 2006, Holly published her first YA novel. "I'm not sure what flipped the switch and turned me from a person who loves reading stories to a person who loves writing them," she says. "But once I got started, I became totally addicted. Now if I'm not working on a book, I feel restless and itchy.

Holly spends her spare time singing in choirs, gardening, bird watching, playing Scrabble, reading in the bathtub, spending time at the cabin, and volunteering for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Holly is married and has three sons and one dog. They live in Peterborough. --BG
