The Droughtlanders
Carrie Mac

Congratulations to Carrie Mac!

The winner of the 2008/2009 Stellar Book award is Carrie Mac for her stunning novel: The Droughtlanders

The sequels Retribution and Storm (published in 2008) conclude this gripping dystopic trilogy. As one teen reviewer on our website said: "Everything in this book is good. The characters are well developed, the plot is fast paced and interesting, it is definitely one of the best books I have ever read." Obviously teens throughout B.C. agreed! Carrie Mac is now the first two time winner of the Stellar Award. Her book "The Beckoners" won the Stellar award in 2006/2007! Congratulations Carrie and thank you to all the teens who participated and voted. Stay tuned for the announcement of the nominees for the 2009/2010 Stellar Book Awards and we'll see you back here in November for the launch of the new list!

The previous winner of the Stellar Book award was Diane Tullson , author of Red Sea - Winner of the 2008 Stellar Book Award!

Although the 2009/2010 Stellar season does not launch until November, you might want to spend part of your summer starting on the 2009 nominees!
