Interview an Author
Want to know what inspires an author, or how long it took to finish a book, or even just what their favourite colour is? Here's your chance to find out! Many of this year's Stellar nominees have agreed to be interviewed by you, the teen reader(s). You'll have a chance to meet the author via email, Skype or over the phone.
Want to give it a try? Simply email me at stellarbookaward@yahoo.ca and let me know which nominee you'd like to interview. Please provide your first and second choices.
It's Contest Time!
This year, we're giving away autographed copies of the nominated titles, just for participating in the Stellar Awards program.
All you need to do is write at least one review this week for your chance to win an autographed copy of Eric Walters' Alexandria of Africa
Once you have posted your review, email us at stellarbookaward@yahoo.ca to let us know (remember to include your name in the email), and you'll be entered into the draw. The draw will take place on Monday, February 7th. Happy Reading, and Good Luck!
Let the Reading Begin!
It's time to start another great Stellar Award season. It's easy to participate - All you need to do is register yourself on the website, read at least 5 of the nominated titles between now and April (but feel free to read more than that if you want!), and then you can vote for your favourite title. Just a reminder that you need to be between the ages of 13 - 19 to participate.
Where can I find the books, you ask? Check at your local public library, or at your school library.
What else is there? This year, in addition to writing reviews of the books you've ready, you'll also have a chance to interview the nominees, and win books, just for participating. Keep checking back for more info.
Our thanks to all the teens who selected the nominees, and to the UBC students who helped create the content for this year's Stellar Award website.
