A new Stellar season begins!

The website for the 2011/2012 Stellar Book Awards is ready for you! Teens can register online for an account. It's fast, it's easy, and it's free! Just create an account for yourself (the link is on the right-hand side of this page), and then you're good to go!

It's easy to participate - After your register, read and review and get ready to defend your favourite titles. If you read at least 5 of the nominated titles between now and April ( read them all if you want!), you can vote for your favourite title. Just a reminder that you need to be between the ages of 13 - 19 to participate.

Where can I find the books, you ask? Check at your local public library, or at your school library.

The winner for the 2011 Stellar Book Award is....

The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong!

Our thanks to all the teens who selected the nominees, read the titles, reviewed and voted for this year's Stellar Book Award, as well as to the teachers and librarians who encouraged their students to participate this year. The Summoning is now in the very good company of previous winners of the Stellar Award:
2010 - Deborah Lynn Jacobs' Choices
2009 - Carrie Mac's The Droughtlanders
2008 - Diane Tullson's Red Sea
2007 - Carrie Mac's The Beckoners

The shortlist of titles for the 2012 award follows but check out the booklist page to read blurbs, author bios and then start your reading and reviewing!
